Decentral power generation
Solutions to deliberately save energy while reducing CO2 emissions.
Power supply with cost advantages
Block heating power plants (BHKW) generate decentralised electricity and heat at the same time according to the principle of combined heat and power generation (KWK). These systems are often the most economical solution for industrial and municipal use at high annual times for heat and power generation. Electricity generation through gas, steam or ORC systems is also part of our range of services.
Security of supplyhigh Total efficiency and short Amortization times are our goal.
Power Heat Cogeneration (KWK)
Block heating power plants (BHKW) generate electricity and heat simultaneously according to the principle of combined heat and power (KWK). Due to the higher efficiency compared to separate production of electricity (e.g. coal power plants) and heat (e.g. boilers with fuel oil or natural gas), these plants contribute to the reduction of energy costs for the user. At the same time, KWK plants reduce climate-relevant emissions and protect our energy resources.
The core competencies for AGO GmbH are KWK plants. With more than 200 installed KWK systems of different manufacturers and performance classes, we have collected an immense wealth of experience in recent years. We are very familiar with all common fuels – natural gas, fuel oil, waste gas, biogas and wood chips.
Areas of application
- Urban plants and energy suppliers for supplying heat to local and district heating networks and electricity to the public network
- Industrial production plants with simultaneous demand for heat and electricity
- Hospitals to cover the basic load
- Sewage plants for energy recovery of waste gas
- Biogas plants
Range of services
- Engines with electrical power of 200 kW to 4,000 kW
- Use of heat in low temperature and hot water systems, steam up to 10 bar

- AGO GmbH can complete planning,
Construction and operation.
Advantages of KWK plants
- Reduction of energy costs
- saving of primary energy by 36%
- NOx savings by 29% and CO2 by 58 %
- Supply security, in the event of a failure of the public power grid, self-power generation is still possible (island operation)
- Possibilities of coupling with refrigeration systems (KWKK)
- KWK Bonus is rewarded for fed and self-used power
- possibility of exemption from natural gas tax or Petroleum duty
- No electricity tax applies to electricity from CHP plants
- High run times are possible by sophisticated technology
Power heat-cold coupling (KWKK)
The combined heat and power is one of our core competencies. For more than 200 installed block-fired power plant modules of different performance classes, we have collected an immense wealth of experience in recent years. We are very familiar with all common fuels – gas, biogas, oil and wood chips.

Especially with our specially developed Absorption calf system ago congelo® AGO GmbH Energie + Anlagen exclusively has a highly interesting product in the field of absorption for refrigeration generation under 0°C.

ORC systems
The Organic Rankine Cycle (abbreviation ORC) is a process for the operation of steam turbines with a different working medium than steam.
Organic liquids with a low evaporation temperature serve as working medium.
The method is used especially when the available temperature gradient between the heat source and sink is too low for the operation of a steam-driven turbine. The use of excess heat potentials by means of an ORC system offers the possibility of significantly increasing the degree of use of primary materials in a sustainable, efficient and environmentally sound manner. This innovative technology allows the waste heat of a process to be used independently of the type of production. This offers the opportunity to significantly increase efficiency in any process where waste heat is available in sufficient quantity and at appropriate temperature levels.
Benefits as a user of an ORC system
- Electricity generation without additional use or fuels
- Low cost of operation, maintenance and maintenance
- Secure annual heat utilization
- Significant increase in the overall efficiency of your plant
- Optimised plant design for maximum net yield
- residual heat utilization without contractual binding to third parties
- Stable and calculable revenues due to high availability and stable operation
- The electric current generated can be fed into the public network as required or used as an intrinsic current on site
- EEG-compliant heat utilization
Range of services
- AGO GmbH Energie + Anlagen has many years of experience with the use of ORC systems
- AGO GmbH Energie + Anlagen is responsible for the complete planning and installation of the ORC plants in the power range of 50 kWel – 2,000 kWel
Gas turbines
Gas turbines generate electricity and heat in parallel as a gas engine block heating power plant. The fields of application for gas turbines are found in municipal utilities, industrial enterprises, and also in large-scale power plants.
The competencies of AGO GmbH lie in the planning and implementation of KWK projects with gas turbines for the provision of electricity and steam. In addition, we supply all necessary media for efficient operation of the entire plant.
AGO GmbH has many years of experience in repowering or integration of new plants into existing supply systems. We implement new gas turbine systems in various areas of energy supply.
Advantages of gas turbine plants
- Flexible elements in the generation system are required due to changed frame conditions of the energy supply due to fluctuating power generation.
- Gas turbines can contribute to network stabilization due to short start times. The hot exhaust gases with temperatures above 500 °C can be used for various applications, for example: steam generation
- Hot or hot water production
- Direct use in drying processes
Areas of application
- Urban and energy sources for supplying heat to local and district heating networks, as well as power supply to the public network
- Industrial production facilities with simultaneous demand for heat and electricity.
Range of services
- Microgas turbines 200 – 1,000 kW (cascade interconnection)
- Industrial gas turbines with waste heat boilers 1.5 – >20 MWel
- Power plant applications >20 MW – 400 MW
- AGO GmbH can take over the complete planning, construction and operation of plants up to 20 MWel for industrial plants and energy suppliers.
