Installation of the heat pump AGO Calora at the municipal works of Münster

The 1.8 MW high-temperature heat pump “AGO Calora” has now been installed in the heating plant of the STW Münster placed on their final position. It was introduced into 4 modules in millimeter work and is now reassembled in the heating unit of the municipal works.
At this location in the city port of Münster, heating energy was originally generated via meter-high coal boilers.
In the coming winter, the large-scale heat pump will produce a proportion of district heating in Münster and will contribute to making it a piece of greener and more efficient. It makes use of unused waste heat from a gas and steam turbine for the district heating network and the connected buildings and apartments, thereby saving up to 4,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions.
