Sustainable energy supply for Progroup-Wellpappwerk

Progroup is one of the largest producers of corrugated cardboard raw paper and corrugated cardboard formats on the European market. For the new “PW15” corrugated paper plant in the Palatinate Petersberg near Pirmasens, sustainable energy is needed in the form of steam, cold water and heating energy for production.

The AGO Energy + plants from Kulmbach were commissioned by Progroup to supply and assemble the technical systems and pipeline systems. This includes the steam, compressed air, cold and heating water supply as well as the complete ventilation technology including the heat recovery systems. The AGO GmbH has already been commissioned for this performance and delivery of Progroup for the fourth time within Europe.

The steam is generated via a boiler with dual firing, which can provide a power of 10 t/h of saturated steam at 15.0 bar vapor pressure. The steam is used to produce and glue the glue for the corrugated board in the production line of the corrugated cardboard machine. via a steam converter or alternatively via two CHPAn absorption refrigeration machine is operated which generates 700 kW of cold power, which corresponds to the cooling requirement of the corrugated cardboard system.

Due to complex adaptations in the construction process, an extremely demanding coordination in logistics was necessary.
