AGO Calora Flow Heat Pump contributes to energy transformation

Innovative KWK- Plant in Lemgo
In the issue of the journal “Energy & Management” of 01. In July 2022, an innovative power-heat coupling (short: ‘iKWK’) system for the municipal works of Lemgo is presented with a view to a ‘green’ supply of heat networks.
In combination with 3 block heating power plants and a solar thermal system, the AGO Energy + Plants developed river water heat pump an iKWK plant, which supplies electricity and heat, thereby saving about 1,500 tonnes of CO 2 per year.
The AGO produced heat pump “AGO Calora” uses river water from the local river Bega as a heat source. Due to the specially developed two-stage heat pump process, which operates ammonia/water with the natural working media, the feed of 1,000 kW of heat at 82° C. to 95° C. into the district heating network is realized with extremely high efficiency.
The AGO GmbH Energie + Anlagen contributes once again to the energy transition with the plant. The city works of Lemgo, which aim for a completely climate-neutral city centre clearly before 2045, are operators of the facility.
Further details on the project can be found in the Energy & Management report: Energy & Management 01.07.2022
